Pchak or Pechak (Uzbek Pichoq – “knife”) is ethnical knife of Central Asian people – Uzbeks and Uyghurs. Its blade is traditionally made of carbon steel, it is straight and wide, single-edged, tapered in section, sometimes with narrow fuller along the spine. Handle is usually made of horn, bone or wood, it is narrow and round in section. Pchak is carried in straight wide sheath. It is widespread all around the Central Asia slightly differing in ornament and proportion.
The knife is perfectly suited for cutting meat and vegetables. It is considered to be a good gift to a man as well as an indispensable assistant in the kitchen. There is Uyghur tradition of everyday arms bearing so every man must have a Pchak about him.
